Team Components for Jira

Privacy policy

In short: the app runs on Atlassian's platform, inside Jira, in your browser. It has no servers of ours. It stores its data (the component list and the components chosen on work items) only in Jira, and sends nothing to anyone else. We never receive your Jira data.

1. Who we are

Team Components for Jira ("the app") is provided by PPFTEC S.R.L., a company registered in Romania, with its registered office at Str. Patriarh Iustinian Marina nr. 17-19B, bl. DC12, mansardă, ap. 25, Râmnicu Vâlcea, jud. Vâlcea, 240469, Romania, Trade Register no. J2026052999008, fiscal code (CUI) 55537142 ("we", "us").

2. What the app does

The app adds a "Components (team-managed)" field and a "Components" page in the settings of team-managed Jira Cloud spaces. Space admins keep a list of components; users pick components on work items; the app can rename, merge or remove a component on all work items of the space.

3. How the app handles data

The app is built on Atlassian Forge and runs entirely on Atlassian's platform:

  • No servers of ours. The app has no backend. Its user interface is served by Atlassian and runs in your browser, inside Jira.
  • Data stays in Jira. The app calls the Jira REST API from your browser, as you, using Atlassian's Forge bridge. Data goes directly between your browser and your Jira site. We never receive, see or store your Jira data.
  • What the app stores, and where. The component list of a space (names, optional descriptions and an archived flag) is stored in Jira as a property of that space (ppftec-team-components). The components chosen on a work item are stored on the work item, in the app's custom field. Both are ordinary Jira data: they stay in your Jira site, under your site's data residency, and are deleted with the space or the work item. The app uses no Forge storage and no database of its own.
  • No third parties. The app does not send data to any external service. It uses no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no cookies and no browser storage of its own.

4. Personal data in Jira content

Component names and descriptions are written by your users and could, in rare cases, contain personal data. Work items shown by the app can contain personal data too. This data is processed by Atlassian as part of Jira and by your browser. Because the app has no backend and stores nothing outside Jira, PPFTEC S.R.L. does not collect this data and has no access to it.

5. Data we may receive from Atlassian

As a Marketplace partner, we may receive account and licensing information from Atlassian, for example the site URL, licence status and billing or technical contact details, to manage licences and provide support. We use it only for licensing, billing and support.

6. Support requests

If you contact us for support, we receive what you send us, for example your name, e-mail address and message. We use it only to answer you, and we keep it for 24 months after the request is closed.

Please do not send work item content that contains personal data unless it is needed to reproduce a problem.

7. Data location and retention

Everything the app stores is in your Jira site, under Atlassian's data residency settings. Uninstalling the app does not delete it: the space property and the field values remain in Jira, and Jira deletes them together with the space or work item. To remove the list earlier, delete the components in the app before uninstalling.

8. Security

The app has the Jira permissions read:jira-work, write:jira-work and manage:jira-project, and it can only do what the signed-in user is already allowed to do in Jira. Please report security issues to support@ppftec.com (see also security.txt).

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection for any personal data we hold about you (in practice, support correspondence). Contact us at support@ppftec.com. You may also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP, or to your local data protection authority.

10. This website

This website (ppftec.com) is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no scripts and uses no analytics or third-party services. It is hosted on Cloudflare; to deliver the pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical connection data such as IP addresses.

11. Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling changes, for example if a future version stores data outside Jira, we will update this policy before releasing that version and change the "Last updated" date.
